At BrokenGate Cattle Ranch, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional beef. Our cattle are born and raised on the ranch for breeding and raising Angus, Hereford, angus-hereford crossbred cattle. This specific breed mix is chosen for its exceptional flavor, marbling, and tenderness, meeting the high-quality standards our customers demand.
Natural Growth Process
Our calves are acquired at 7-10 months of age and are raised on high-protein pasture grass with supplemental mineral nutrients. This all-natural growth process continues for an additional 10-12 months, ensuring our cattle mature naturally. The finishing process begins when they reach the desired size, allowing for the development of marbling and flavor. Low-stress harvesting takes place at 21-24 months, further enhancing meat quality.
Contrasting with Retail Beef
Unlike mass-produced retail beef, which often relies on growth hormones and antibiotics, we emphasize an all-natural approach. Our cattle grow and mature naturally in a low-stress environment, grazing on rich clover, orchard grass, and legumes. They receive necessary immunizations to maintain health and protect against disease and parasites.
Preserving Nutritional Value
During the finishing process, our cattle feed on a combination of rich grasses, high-protein orchard grass hay, and specialized cattle feed blends, including cracked corn, steamed barley, and protein mix. This unique approach preserves the Omega-3 fatty acids acquired from the rich pasture grasses, ensuring our beef retains its nutritional value.
